Valentines Community Hero

Idaho Crisis and Suicide Hotline

Every year, Community Cakes chooses a community partner that may need a little extra love on the annual day of love. This year, four of our talented bakers, Barbara Sargent, Christina Barkley, Julia Marshall, and Jolene Schiers, signed up for this special project and created some truly amazing treats! Pictures of their delicious treats are below.

The 988 Idaho Crisis and Suicide Hotline is available 24/7 for anyone that is struggling! Anyone can call anytime to get help without shame or embarrassment. The hotline employees receive over 2000 calls every month. Part of their service is that they also do a follow up call to further that support and make a continued connection with the person that may be struggling.

There should never be a negative stigma attached to calling the hotline. If someone needs help they should feel comfortable to call. Learn more about the 988 Idaho Crisis and Suicide Hotline on their website at https://idahocrisis.org/

Happy baking and happy Valentine's Day!

2023 Heroes

For our 2023 Heroes, we selected three special recipients

Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue

Ada County 911 Dispatchers

Canyon County 911 Dispatchers

We wanted to share some love with these heroes who provide lifesaving care to those experiencing all kinds of emergencies. Thanks to our bakers who volunteered to provide treats to these special people.

Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue

Thanks to Baker Lori for bringing Valentine’s Day treats to Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue for their Tuesday meeting. This all volunteer group with 130 members provides life saving services to those lost hurt or stranded in Idaho’s wilderness.
