Community Cakes volunteer bakers provide homemade birthday cakes to those who would otherwise not receive them on their special day.
Our bakers are volunteers who donate their time to bake cakes for individuals in our community. Community Cakes is a 501(c)3 non profit, established in 2011. We work with organizations such as senior living centers, memory care facilities, adult developmental care, hospice and home health facilities and more. Click here for a full list of our partners.
“The original baker in my family was my grandmother who in the 1930s baked her famous German Chocolate, coconut pound cake. I am still using some of her recipes and have developed my own favorites that I enjoy baking for Community Cakes recipients. Cake is in my history along with the belief that everyone deserves a birthday cake on their day — especially when it very well might be their last birthday on this earth. When I can provide this one kindness I am honoring my own grandmother and her legacy — and I may or may not lick the batter bowl!”
